Partner Visas Perth

Visa Subclass 801/820, 309/100 + 300

Australia’s Partner Visa options allow couples to start a life together in Australia, including in Perth. The two main types of Partner Visas available in Australia are Subclass 309/100 Visas and Subclass 820/801 Visas. These visas offer a path to permanent residence in Perth and throughout Australia for both de-facto and married couples.

To make a Partner Visa application in Perth, couples must provide evidence that their relationship is genuine and ongoing, and that they meet several requirements, such as ‘financial’, ‘social’, ‘nature of household’, and ‘nature of commitment’ factors.

Interstaff is an established immigration service provider that has been helping couples apply for Partner Visas for over 30 years. Our team of Registered Migration Agents guide couples through the complex visa application process and provide comprehensive advice to help you prepare for the requirements at each step of the way.

Simply get in touch to discuss how we can help.

Onshore and Offshore Partner Visas

The main difference between the Subclass 309/100 Visas and Subclass 820/801 Visas is the way in which you apply for the Partner Visa – either from within Australia or outside of Australia. The Subclass 820 Visa is an ‘Onshore’ Partner Visa and requires the applicant to be within Australia when applying for the visa and at the time their visa is granted.

This requires careful planning to ensure evidence requirements are prepared according to schedule and before the applicant’s temporary visa expires. It’s important to note, delays could result in the applicant having to return to their home country and apply from offshore.

Australia’s ‘Offshore’ Partner Visa is the Subclass 309/100 Visa. This visa requires the applicant to be outside of Australia when applying and when the visa is granted. An Offshore Visa is more flexible than the Subclass 820/801 Visa as it does not require applicants to be bound by time constraints of a temporary visa.

As the application is made offshore, couples will need to be comfortable with continuing their relationship long-distance until the visa is granted.

Partner Visa Requirements

There are several eligibility requirements that determine whether your partner can obtain a Subclass 309/100 Partner Visa to live in Perth with you. Applicants need to provide evidence showing their relationship can satisfy the below criteria:

  • Financial
  • Social
  • Nature of household
  • Nature of commitment

Couples must provide evidence of their relationship for a Partner Visa, which will vary based on factors such as relationship status and living arrangements. The Department of Home Affairs uses this evidence to determine the genuineness of the relationship and make a decision on the visa application.

Likewise, eligibility for family visas depends on the specific circumstances of the applicant and their relationship. It’s crucial to have substantial evidence to prove that the relationship meets the visa criteria set by the Department of Home Affairs. Working with an experienced migration agent can greatly increase the chances of success, as they can help guide the applicant through the specific requirements for their particular case and ensure that all necessary documentation is in order.

Am I Eligible To Sponsor My Partner to Live In Perth?

To sponsor your partner for an Australian visa, you need to be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent citizen or an eligible New Zealand citizen and meet other eligibility factors. Our migration agents in Perth can assess your relationship circumstances and provide advice on your eligibility for suitable Partner Visa Perth options.
